Methanol Holdings (Trinidad) Limited is headquartered in the Point Lisas Industrial Estate in Trinidad, West Indies. The company owns five methanol  plants which are located adjacent to its headquarters.These plants have the combined capacity to produce over 4 million Metric Tonnes (MT) of methanol per year. This puts MHTL as the 2nd largest producer of methanol in the world.

On May 04, 2006 MHTL held the Sod-turning ceremony for its AUM Project which is to be built on the Point Lisas Industrial Estate. This project will realize a new Petrochemical Complex of seven distinct, but integrated, plants geared to produce Urea Ammonium Nitrate-32 (UAN) solution and Melamine. The Complex is expected to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2009 and it is the largest project ever undertaken by the company. It also represents a strategic diversification out of methanol into a broader range of downstream petrochemicals with the potential to be used in the production of a range of consumer goods.
